Do you need to sell your house in Miami FL but you are too emotional about it?  Learn how to take emotions out of it in this post.  If you need to sell your house fast to eliminate all the emotions, we buy homes in Miami, Florida directly from you.

Selling your house is not always easy both emotionally and literally.  If you have lived in your home for a long time, there is sentimental value and an attachment to the property.  Even if you know it is your time to move it can be difficult to remove your emotions from the process.

While it’s great to fondly think about your property, it is best to remove the emotions to be able to make the transactions easier.

How do you remove your emotions from your property?

  1. Focus on the next chapter. When you focus on what you are gaining by disposing of your property, selling it will be way easier.  Think about the fresh start in a new area and what it will mean to you.  While we don’t discard the old memories you have created in your current home, you can be sure you will make better ones in the next place you live.
  2. Remind yourself why you are selling.  The reason for selling also helps to stay focused during the selling process. Maybe the house is too large and the kids have all moved out or maybe the property is too small for your growing family.  While the selling process may feel difficult, remember why you are doing it in the first place.  This will make things much easier for you.
  3. Create a virtual memory box. If your home has lots of fond memories that you would like to hold on to, consider taking photos and storing them digitally.  This will help you remember those special moments and refer to them with ease. This idea will also help with downsizing all your memories into one place where you can view videos and photos with ease.  Take photos of things you will miss and won’t have in the next home to keep them in memory. You may also create a journal full of stories of some great memories you have made at home.
  4. Remove personal items before your moving day.  Long before the actual move, remove all the personal items and pack them away.  This may subconsciously reduce the attachment to your home.  It will begin to feel less and less like your home but more of space. Remember not to pack anything you need!
  5. Don’t overprice your home.  When a property means a lot to you, you may overprice it to kind of feel even.  This could cause a lot of back and forth with interested buyers which make them tired and lose interest.  To save you from all this, we can help you determine how much your home is worth before you sell it.  This way you sell it easily and fast to help you deal with emotional attachment.

In case you choose to list your house, keep in mind that it might take longer to sell than you had planned. This could drag your emotional turmoil for longer.  Selling your home directly  to us could make things work more quickly.
